The Hellenic Association of Women with Breast Cancer "Alma Zois" is a non-profit organization founded in 1988 by women who had personally experienced breast cancer.
What makes the Association unique is that its members, volunteers, and Board of Directors are all women that have experienced breast cancer. This enables us to provide support grounded in genuine understanding, empathy, and shared experience.
The Association’s core areas of activity include raising awareness about breast cancer prevention and early detection, providing structured peer support, empowering and offering psychosocial support to patients, and advocating for high-quality care for every woman affected by the disease.
Our scientific and psychosocial programs are designed and coordinated by specialized mental health professionals and are approved by both a multidisciplinary Scientific Committee and the Association’s seven-member Board of Directors.
Today, following decades of continuous service and commitment, the Association has more than 2,500 members and a strong network of trained volunteers, providing support to hundreds of women across Greece.
