Founded in 1906, in Boston Massachusetts, New Balance has a proud history, of more than 110 years. Our story begins, when William J. Riley, while observing the chickens in his backyard, he realized their unique balance. As a result, the first ever product of New Balance, was a flexible arch support insole.

In 1938, the first running shoes were introduced to the public and three years later, in 1941, New Balance starts to stand out in the athletic world with the manufacture of custom – made running shoes.
The year 1972, constitutes a milestone in the company’s history. The current owner and chairman of New Balance, Jim Davis, bought the company, in the memorable day of the Boston Marathon. Thence, New Balance stands strong, among the biggest sport brands around the globe, while it also remaining the only major athletic company that still produces footwear in USA and in UK.

Today, New Balance represents more than a brand and has the following mission: Demonstrating responsible leadership, while building global brands that athletes are proud to wear, associates are proud to create and communities are proud to host.

New Balance has been associated with Susan G. Komen® since 1989 and has been a National Series Sponsor of the Race for the Cure® since 1991 – making New Balance the longest running sponsor of the Race series. As a National Series Sponsor, New Balance partners with retailers and Komen Affiliates across the country to promote awareness at the local level.

New Balance Greece, following the steps of the HQ in Boston, joins the cause, of raising awareness and support, by contributing in the strive of the Greek organization, “Alma zois”, for valid and secure information regarding the disease.

We would like to invite you, to this year’s “Greece Race for the Cure®”, to lace up our running shoes and spread, together, with our every step, a powerful message of optimism and awareness.

Our motto is “The only finish line, is the cure”.
